My Must Haves as a New Wheely Mom

I''ve been getting asked a lot about some of the items we have purchased as a new mom. Here are some links to things we have tested that actually work for us!

I'll keep adding items as we go (and add more pictures as well).

Beside Bassinet

This has been amazing so far. The side rolls down so I can easily access Oliver, and it has wheels so I can easily move him around the house with my as needed.

Nursing Pillow

I've been using this for feeding and for moving Ollie around the house.

Stroller & Car Seat

For a stroller, we purchased the UPPAbaby Minu V2 - which is an older version not available anymore. They now sell the Minu V3 - but rather than having a separate basinet attachment, the V3 folds into a bassinet. The only downside is the V3 bassinet is not overnight approved.

For a car seat, we went with the UPPAbaby Aria. This car seat weighs less than 6 pounds and I could pick it up 2 days after my C-section with baby Oliver in it....the downside here is that we will have to buy a second one when Oliver is bigger.

Why we went with this combination?

  • Lightweight, - I am able to put all items into the vehicle by myself.

  • Travel capable - especially the V2 + bassinet allows for us to have Oliver sleep bedside

  • I think the green is color pretty :)

Baby Changing Basket

We picked this because it was portable. It can be placed on a table, and on my lap. The sides felt like a good idea so baby wouldn't roll off the side as well.

Night Gown

I wanted to make sure I had some shirts that were a bit comfier for the stay at the hospital. These gowns have been great. Easy to put on over my head and they pull down far enough to look like a dress.  They've been great to making changing easier and they easily unbutton for breastfeeding.

(I'm wearing this in the nursing pillow image above as well)

Swaddles

We've really been liking these Halo swaddles so far for our newborn.

Diaper Pail

This one is accidentally accessible for me. Most diaper pails use a foot press to open, but this one was just a slide which we thought was nice for our needs.

Animal Handles

This one isn't really for accessibility, but they're just so cute!

Animal Wall Art

These have been so cute!

Pre-Natal Vitamins

I used these my entire pregnancy and am still using them during breast feeding.

I don't tolerate iron well, which is why we went with these. as these do not contain any iron.

Colostrum Collectors

I knew I had a scheduled C-section because baby was breach so we started manually expressing colostrum 5 days before baby was coming.
